Release 1.13, December 8, 2011

1. Referral numbers help communicate with Clarity

2. Explicit control of the message waiting "flag"

3. Return to your worklist when you finish working on a referral

4. Help selecting the right CPT (outbound imaging referrals only)

5. Create your own worklists

Up until now, your list of outgoing referrals is just like everybody else's, and for those of you receiving referrals on Clarity, your list of incoming referrals is also "one size fits all". We've heard many of you ask for different ways to sort, filter, and manage your list of referrals.

Here's some of the things you can do with the new Configurable Worklists feature:
  1. You can add or remove columns from any worklist, and adjust the width of columns in your worklists.
  2. You can sort worklists in many different ways. You can set up a "default" sort for a worklist when you configure it. Once a worklist is displayed, clicking on the column header sorts on that column (and clicking again on that column reverses the sort).
  3. You can add or change the fields used to search worklists. Up until now, you have been restricted to searching or filtering on just a few fields. Now you can put any column into your searches. This makes it easy, for example, to restrict a view to just those referrals going to (or coming from) a particular practice.
  4. And with all this flexibility, you will want to save and re-use worklists that are configured just the way you want them.

You don't have to use any of these features. When you go to your worklist on Friday, it will have the same columns, sorting and filtering options as always and you can use it the same way you have been. (Inbound lists have one new column, and we'll get to that in the next section.)

We will be providing separate training and support for those of you who would like some help exploring how Configurable Worklists can help your practice. For those of you who wish to explore these features on your own, you can start by clicking the More List Options button on the top right of any worklist.

The More List Options button brings up a dialog box that allows you to select the columns you want displayed in your worklist, lets you control the width of columns, and to configure one or more columns for the initial sort.

The dropdown menu (circled above) allows you to save the Current View with a name of your choosing. Your current view is always "remembered" for the next time you use Clarity, but named views allow you to set up specific worklists for specific work tasks. The Reset Defaults button creates a simple list to start from, but still leaves all your named lists available to you.

Named lists also save your search or filter fields. The search section is under the Find a Referral heading on the left side of your worklist (picture below). When you click on More Search Options... a dialog box appears that allows you to add or remove fields (columns) from the search criteria. The fields are saved along with the columns when you save a worklist as above. Note: The value you choose for the filters are not saved. When you use a saved worklist, enter the search (or filter) values you wish, and click the Find button to update the worklist.

Export worklists to Excel

An advanced feature in this release is the ability to export a worklist to Excel. The screen clip below shows the bottom right corner of a worklist. To the left of the referral counter is a new "Export" button. When you select this button, all selected records will be downloaded into an Excel workbook. Note that this may take a few minutes for larger selections, so we recommend using filters to reduce the worklist to the actual referral records you wish to analyze.
