In addition to asking for more control over message waiting indicators, specialists and other receivers of referrals have asked if they could use Clarity to track their progress in following-up on the referrals as a patient (and referral) flows through their service processes. This release allows you to manage the Stage of a referral as it goes through your process: Starting with New, then Acknowledged, Scheduled, Service Delivered, and Report Delivered. There are also three end stages to indicate that the service wasn't delivered: Canceled, No-Show, and Non-clinical. (The meaning of these is not strictly defined, and you can use them in whatever way is most helpful to your practice.) The stage is presented, by default, in the column immediately to the left of the patient name in the default inbound worklist:
Once you select one or more referrals in your worklist, you can change their Stage using the menu in the lower left corner of the worklist. In the example above on the right, two referrals are being set to the "Scheduled" state. We expect some of you will create worklists filtered for a single stage so that, for example, you can work on scheduling all the "Acknowledged" referrals without having to skip over those which are already scheduled.
The date and time of each of these stage changes is saved, and is available through the Export to Excel feature described above. This will allow you to analyze and report on the progress of referrals through your process.
